The purpose of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks of the United States of America is:
To inculcate the principles of Charity, Justice, Brotherly Love and Fidelity; to recognize a belief in God; to promote the welfare and enhance the happiness of its Members; to quicken the spirit of American Patriotism; to cultivate good fellowship; to perpetuate itself as a Fraternal Organization, and to provide for its government.
If you are a citizen of the United States, pledge allegiance to and salute the American Flag, are of good character, at least twenty-one years of age, not directly or indirectly a member of or in any way connected with the Communist Party of believe in the overthrow of our Government by force and believe in God you may apply for membership in the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks.
